The University of Queensland has two Nobel laureates

Peter C. Doherty, winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine, and Barry James Marshall, winner of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine. Former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd (Rudd) and former Defense Minister Peter Gration, Australia’s first female governor Dame Quentin Bryce are all alumni of Kunming University. The University of Queensland has also trained a number of mayors, including four governors. The University of Queensland ranks 47th in the world in the 2017-2018 QS World University Rankings, USNews World University ranks 42nd in the world, and 2017 Times Higher Education World University ranks 65th in the world. Ranked 55th in the world in 2017 by ARWU, ranking in the top 1% of the world rankings and ranking among the top three in Australian universities.

The University of Queensland Business School is Australia’s first AACSB accredited university business school and is EQUIS accredited and rated by the Australian Management Graduates Association (GMAA) as a five-star. His outstanding business school is well-known and won the first place in the Asia Pacific Business School by The Economist.
