“I am pleased to extend greetings to your entire school as you gather to congratulate the winners of the President’s Education Award,” Trump wrote.

“I commend you for your academic and civic achievements and hope you will continue to pursue your educational goals,” he continued.

President Trump also wished Haji “continued success,” adding his family shared “the pride of [her] parents, teachers, and friends.”
This is the second time she has won the prize after she was awarded the honour by former US President Barack Obama in 2016.
“I’m inspired by your motivation and work ethic,” Obama wrote in a letter congratulating the young Kurdish student.
“It gives me great hope to know our future will be written by ambitious young people like you,” he added.
The young Kurdish student attends Emerald STEAM Magnet Middle School in El Cajon, California.
The President’s Education Awards Program is sponsored by the US Department of Education in partnership with the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
The award was established to help principals distinguish and honour students who have reached top academic targets through hard work and devotion to learning.
The program also provides individual recognition from the President of the US and the US Secretary of Education.
